Poopik Privacy Policy

Last updated 4 September 2026. Poopik is built and published by Alexander Drossel, Hamburg, Germany. The short version: the app has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no servers of its own. Your data stays on your device.

What the app stores

Poopik keeps your pet's state (stats, age, weight, care history, settings) in a local database on your iPhone. A small snapshot of that state is shared with the Poopik widgets, the Apple Watch app and its complications so they can show your pet. None of this leaves your devices, and none of it is sent to me.

Health data

With your permission, Poopik reads two things from Apple Health: your daily step count and your sleep analysis. Steps are turned into exercise for your pet. Sleep data is used to align your pet's sleep schedule with yours. Poopik never writes to Health, never uploads Health data anywhere, and does not use it for advertising or any other purpose. You can revoke access at any time in Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices.

Purchases

In-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. Poopik only receives a confirmation that a purchase was made so it can unlock the item. I do not receive your name, payment details or Apple ID.

Notifications and Live Activities

Reminders (your pet is hungry, there is poop to clean up) are local notifications scheduled on your device. The Dynamic Island poop alert is a Live Activity, also handled on-device. No push server is involved.

Apple Watch

The iPhone app sends your pet's snapshot to the paired Apple Watch using Apple's WatchConnectivity framework. This is a direct device-to-device transfer.

What the app does not do

  • No user accounts or sign-in.
  • No analytics, crash reporting or tracking SDKs.
  • No advertising.
  • No data sold or shared with third parties.
  • No network requests to servers operated by me.

Children

Poopik is rated 9+ and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, children included. Since nothing is collected, there is nothing to delete on my side. Deleting the app deletes all its data.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct and delete your personal data. Because Poopik does not collect any, the practical way to exercise these rights is to delete the app. If you have questions, email alex@drossel.xyz.

Changes

If a future version starts collecting anything, this page and the App Store privacy labels will be updated first.
